Avast Service Review
Avast is among the most popular antivirus products in the industry. It is a powerful malware detection engine, along with many other features like ransomware protection along with a web firewall as well as VPN assistance. Its malware detection score of 6 out 6 in our tests was outstanding and it did a superb job of preventing access to phishing sites that have slipped through the Chrome and Firefox default security.
Avast’s tests in the real world showed that it could scan almost two million files in a full scan. This is quite impressive considering how light and efficient the suite is. Avast did not affect the system’s performance in any way during our speed tests. It was faster than many of its competitors which can take as long as an hour to scan the same number of files.
The interface of Avast is clean simple and easy to navigate. The Avast interface is clean, simple and easy to navigate. The majority of features are located on a single page with clear tiles that represent each feature. This makes it simple to locate the features you require without having to search through a lengthy menu or a multitude of applications. This is an improvement over McAfee’s suite which includes all its features scattered across a variety of apps.
Avast offers a good level of customer service with 24 hour customer support via telephone or email. Avast also provides a knowledgebase and forums to help you with simple issues. For more complex problems, you can use an online ticketing system for help. Its practices for sharing data are problematic, and it does not offer parental controls or an account manager that can rival Bitdefender Total Security.
